Honor 9/11 by Learning about the Lifesaving Skill of Hands-Only CPR

The American Heart Association's Nation of Lifesavers movement is ensuring more people are prepared to take action when every second counts. Currently, 70% of Americans feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency, creating an urgent need for education and awareness. This interactive webinar will help participants build confidence, learn lifesaving skills, and discover simple ways to share that knowledge with others. Goal: Learn the basics of Hands-Only CPR, what to do during a cardiac emergency and how to help spread lifesaving knowledge.

Nature Trail Crew

The Land Trust for Tennessee’s Nature Trail is one of many coveted characteristics at our 64-acre Glen Leven Farm just south of downtown Nashville. From the forested canopy to open pasture to wetland creek bed and more, this 1.4-mile hiking trail is an opportunity for visitors to survey the types of landscapes The Land Trust for Tennessee works to conserve across the state. Nature Trail Crew volunteers help maintain this educational and immersive trek. Our primary objectives for this group are trail maintenance and selective invasive species control. Volunteers should be prepared for outdoor activity in varying weather conditions, should wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and dress in layers, should bring a reusable water bottle and should be team-oriented and responsible.

Reading Community Players Presents 110 Stories: A Fundraiser for Berks County Firemen's Association

Sarah Tuft’s acclaimed docu‑play takes audiences from the first crash to the last goodbye at Ground Zero through the voices of those who lived it. The script is built from interviews and personal accounts, capturing moments of fear, humor, and unexpected heroism. Our production, directed by Tony Quinones, features a small, skilled ensemble portraying multiple characters to bring these real stories to life. 9/11 Steps of Remembrance Stair Climb

Join Aspiria Fitness for our 9/11 Steps of Remembrance Stair Climb as we come together to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and recognize the courage and sacrifice of the firefighters, first responders, and civilians impacted that day. Participants will complete the symbolic equivalent of 2,220 stairs (110 stories)—representing the climb made by firefighters in the World Trade Center towers. Whether you complete every stair without stopping or take breaks along the way, this event is about remembrance, resilience, and community—not speed. The morning will begin with a memorial ceremony, including a moment of silence, before participants begin the stair climb. Along the route, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the significance of the day while challenging themselves physically in honor of those who served. All fitness levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to climb at their own pace. Following the event, enjoy refreshments and receive a completion gift from local wellness partners while supplies last.

9/11 Memorial Run Support

Our USO volunteers will partner with 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, and Family Morale Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) authorities to provide bottled water and fruit to more than five hundred Mountain Soldiers and family members as they complete a memorial run in recognition of the victims of 9/11.

John Muir Park Revitalization

During the event, volunteers will work together to remove invasive woody species and restore the park’s natural landscape. The woody debris collected will be transformed into a valuable soil amendment called biochar using large, specialized kilns. By removing invasive vegetation, volunteers will help create space for a new nature trail that will provide residents with greater access to nature and outdoor recreation. The biochar produced during the event will also have a lasting impact beyond John Muir Park. It will be used to support tree plantings and other restoration projects throughout Green Bay, extending the environmental benefits of this one-day volunteer effort into the future.

Packing Food (Meal) Bags/Boxes

Volunteers will help pack several hundred CSFP food (meal) boxes for senior citizens (age 60 and over) to be delivered by other volunteers on a later date, pack meal boxes for neighbors in need to be picked up on the same day through our OrderAhead program, and sort through donated goods to pack food boxes to be ordered and picked up by local food pantries and distributed to neighbors in need who frequent their pantry locations.

9.11 Day - Unite For Good

Join Hermann Park Conservancy on Friday, September 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a meaningful morning of service in Hermann Park. In recognition of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, volunteers will unite for good by participating in hands-on projects that help care for and beautify the Park. Projects may include gardening, planting, mulching, litter removal, and other seasonal maintenance activities. Together, we will honor the spirit of service, strengthen our community, and make a lasting impact on one of Houston’s most treasured public spaces. ISU's Community Preparedness Fair

Community members will have the opportunity to learn about emergency preparedness, reducing risks, and recovery resources from local organizations. Each family will receive a 72-hour kit as well as instructions to help build a more robust emergency preparedness kit for their family. All attendees will receive instructions on how to build a robust emergency kit. This is a family friendly event with plenty of kids activities. ISU's 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

Each year, ISU’s 9/11 Day of Service AmeriCorps program hosts the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to honor the lives lost and heroes who served during the events of 9/11. Community members are invited to participate by climbing the stairs in tribute, taking part in hands-on service projects, or cheering on climbers as we come together in remembrance, service, and community spirit. This years service projects include assembling hygiene kits for which funding was provided by 9/11 Day. Participants can also assemble veteran appreciation kits. ISU's 9/11 Week Kick Off

Clare Conservation District 9/11 Day of Service

Volunteers will help with a variety of projects on our developing 12 acre parcel. Projects include, installing a water collection system from a 12x20 storage shed, trail maintenence, fall native tree and flower plantings, putting fence around new plantings for browse protection, invasive species removal/control, and a variety of other projects.

A Day of Remembrance

My group is planning a program for the residents in our large 55+ Senior community . The morning will begin at 8:15 with a slide show and displays of photos, poems, related experiences of 9/11. The ballroom event starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. Our Veteran's Club will conduct an Honor Guard and the flag salute. This is to be followed by our chorus and the invocation. We have our Assemblyman and four residents, who were on site that fateful day, describe their experiences. The chorus sings another inspiring song and then the audience is given a task to do. Everyone will be given a Pay It Forward card to go out and do three good deeds. Throughout the program a bell will be rung each time a plane crashed or a tower went down. A Chat Room is set up for informal talks when the main program ends.

9/11 Memorial Fun Run/Walk

ackson Township Fire Department invites all residents, families, and community partners to participate in the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Fun Run/Walk on the morning of September 11. This annual event serves as a meaningful opportunity for our community to come together in remembrance, reflection, and civic unity. Held in honor of the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and in recognition of the courage demonstrated by first responders and citizens across the nation, the Memorial Run/Walk reinforces our shared commitment to service and community resilience. Participants of all ages are welcome to join in this observance. The Jackson Township Fire Department is a totally volunteer 501c-3 organization and uses funds raised for its education, training and community programs.

Colors of Restoration: A Community Empowerment Painting Session & Giveaway Drive

In partnership with 9/11 Day, Brunch with the Word is bringing restoration and renewal to Brooklyn. This event is centered on empowerment and giving back. Attendees will paint as an act of personal restoration — a way of processing past pain and renewing the mind. That same creative output, alongside a parallel care package effort, becomes our gift back to the community. We’ll talk identity, mindset renewal, and emotional wellness, because rebuilding starts from within. Then we’ll put it into action: a community giveaway drive delivering paintings, care packages, and groceries to families and elders right here in our neighborhood. In the spirit of 9/11’s national day of service, we’re turning creativity into community care.

We Serve to Remember 9/11 Day of Service

Join Reconnecting with the Disconnected for our We Serve to Remember 9/11 Day of Service, a youth-led community service project that brings together youth volunteers, first responders, veterans, military personnel, public safety professionals, community organizations, and local leaders to honor the spirit of unity and service inspired by September 11, 2001. Volunteers will work together to restore an illegal dumpsite in Horizon City by removing litter and debris, improving the environment, and demonstrating how service can strengthen our communities. The event will begin with a brief remembrance ceremony honoring the lives lost on September 11, as well as the courage and sacrifice of first responders, military members, veterans, and all who continue to serve our communities. Throughout the morning, participants will have the opportunity to connect with public safety professionals, learn about careers in public service, and experience the impact of working side by side to create positive change. Whether you're a student, family member, first responder, veteran, or community volunteer, your participation will help honor the legacy of 9/11 through meaningful service.
