Join Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana for a meaningful 9/11 Day of Service. Together, youth and community volunteers will pack 20,000 meals for families facing food insecurity while learning about the significance of September 11th and honoring those who serve our communities and country. This event is an opportunity to turn remembrance into action. By serving alongside youth, families, community members, businesses, and local leaders, volunteers will help demonstrate the power of coming together to meet the needs of others. No matter your age or level of volunteer experience, there is a place for you. We invite you to join us as we serve, remember, and make an impact together.

Who Can Participate?
This event is open to: - Individuals - Families - Community members - Businesses and corporate groups - Civic organizations - Faith-based organizations - Local leaders and elected officials - First responders and public servants - Veterans and military-affiliated groups - Current and past volunteers Volunteers do not need prior meal-packing or service experience. Training will be provided on-site.
What to Bring?
Volunteers should: - Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for physical activity - Wear closed-toe shoes - Bring a positive attitude and willingness to serve - Bring a refillable water bottle if desired - Arrive 15 minutes for check-in and orientation All necessary meal-packing materials and supplies will be provided.
Parking & Arrival Parking
Please plan to arrive early enough to park and complete check-in before the event begins. Look for BGCNL/event signage/volunteer check-in signs upon arrival.
Snacks & Refreshments
Snacks, and water will be provided for registered participants during the event. Please notify us of any dietary restrictions or food allergies when registering. We will try out best to accommodate.
Volunteer Opportunities
Pre-event Setup
Help us get ready for our 9/11 Day of Service! Pre-event volunteers will assist with setting up tables and workstations, organizing meal-packing supplies, preparing youth activity materials, arranging signage, and getting the event space ready for our youth and community volunteers. Volunteer Tasks Include: - Setting up tables and meal-packing stations - Organizing meal-packing supplies and materials - Preparing youth activities - Setting up signage and registration areas - Organizing volunteer materials - General event space preparation
Meals of Remembrance Event Volunteer
In observance of 9/11 Day, Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana will bring together youth and community volunteers for a large-scale day of service focused on giving back to our community. Together, we will work toward packing approximately 20,000 Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal meals through Meals of Hope. Volunteers will work alongside Boys & Girls Clubs youth and staff to: - Assemble and package Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal meals - Work together in designated meal-packing stations - Assist with organizing and preparing meal-packing materials - Encourage and support youth participants throughout the project - Help maintain a clean and safe service environment - Participate in the 9/11 Day educational and remembrance component - Help us reach our goal of 20,000 meals packed Volunteer Roles Meal Packing Volunteers - Assist with assembling and packaging meals alongside youth participants. Youth Engagement Volunteers - Help encourage and support younger participants throughout the service activity. Hospitality Volunteers - Assist with check-in, meals, snacks, water, and general participant needs. Setup & Cleanup Volunteers - Help prepare the space before the event and return it to its original condition afterward.
